We are delighted to welcome Vicky McDonnell from Dublin, Ireland, to the Méribel Nanny Services team for winter 2026/27.
Vicky has been working with children since her teens and holds a Bachelor of Education (Primary). She brings a wonderfully varied background in childcare and education, with experience caring for children from 6 months old through to young adults.
Her childcare journey began with babysitting alongside her studies, providing both daytime and evening care for babies and children from 6 months old. Since then, Vicky has gained experience in a wide range of roles, including working as a primary school teacher and tutor, a piano teacher for children aged 4–8, and a dinghy sailing instructor — giving her plenty of experience keeping children engaged, active, and having fun!
Most recently, Vicky has been working in a school as a Special Education Teacher, supporting children with severe autism. This experience has given her an excellent understanding of how to adapt her approach to suit each individual child, with a focus on patience, communication, inclusion, and creating an environment where children feel comfortable and supported.
Having always loved being around children, Vicky is particularly excited to bring her skills into a completely different environment this winter. She is looking forward to expanding her experience with babies and younger children while drawing on her teaching background to plan creative, stimulating, and age-appropriate activities for the children in her care.
An outdoor enthusiast herself, Vicky can’t wait to swap the classroom for the mountains and make the most of everything Méribel has to offer. Whether getting creative indoors, heading out for a snowy adventure, or simply getting to know each child’s individual personality and interests, Vicky is excited to make sure the children she cares for have just as memorable a holiday as their parents.
Vicky’s references had nothing but lovely things to say about her including:
“Vicky has a warm, gentle and kind personality. She gets on very well with child and staff. She is caring, responsible and hard working. I would highly recommend Vicky for a position as a nanny. She is a qualified teacher with a lot of experience working with young children. She enjoys working with children. I would be very happy to work with Vicky again.”
