We are very excited to have Sierra returning to us for her 3rd winter season. Sierra has over 11 years experience working with children of all ages, She has worked in various settings, including nannying, tutoring, nursery teaching, summer camp coordinating, and coaching girls basketball. During her winters with us, Sierra has been incredibly busy and always books up early. During her time with us she has worked with babies and children from 2 months up to 12 years.
Along with her extensive experience Sierra holds an impressive array of certifications, including those from Oxford University Press in Pre-Literacy Skills in Early Years and Implementing Literacy Approaches. She also has an Advanced TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) certificate and a TEFL certificate for teaching English online.
Since moving to Europe in 2016, Sierra has held several nanny and household management roles. Including working in Cologne, Germany, caring for two children aged 8 months and 4 years. She then took on a similar position in Norway, looking after three children aged 2, 4, and 6 years. Later, she worked as a nanny and tutor in Munich, Germany, for two children aged 6 and 11 years.
Aswell as time back in the US where she held a role in Seattle, caring for two children aged 4 months and 3 years. In addition to her nannying experience, Sierra has worked as a nursery teacher with children aged 4 months to 6 years in Germany.
For winter 2023/24, Sierra worked alongside her husband Ben, a fellow nanny on our team, for a popular childcare agency in Morzine, France. Providing professional childcare services to families on their ski holidays working with children aged 3 months to 8 years old. It was here herself and Ben fell in love with the alps and the job, providing holiday childcare
Over this summer,Sierra has been working in Austria with her husband Ben at a language camp in Austria as a camp manager, providing English lessons, updating the camps English programme and training new teachers.

We were nervous about leaving our 9month old as we hadn’t left her for more than a couple of hours before, but Sierra filled us with absolute confidence from the first moment we met (actually even before we even met with our contact on WhatsApp!). We felt so secure that she would take treat care of her, she understood her feeding and sleeping needs, and how to give her expressed milk and understanding baby led weaning, it all made us feel so relaxed. One standout moment, which really shows how great Sierra is at understanding children’s complex needs was when she recognised that our toddler wasn’t feeling the activity she had planned and instead changed the plans, recognised what she needed and took her for some quiet time instead. We loved that because it really showed great empathy and understanding of our toddlers big feelings and unique needs. We would book Sierra again in a heartbeat, we can’t think of anything that could have been better, she was just perfect. I’m sure our toddler will talk about “her favourite nanny Sierra” for a long time to come.
