We are excited to welcome Aoife Magee to the Méribel Nanny Services team for her first winter season. Originally from Belfast, Aoife has been working with children since she was 16 and brings experience from a fantastic variety of childcare, education and residential settings across several countries.

Aoife’s journey into childcare began as a teenager, volunteering as an assistant swimming teacher and supporting children through the Solas Autism Scheme in Belfast. Her professional experience then began as a classroom assistant in Belfast, before taking her love of working with children overseas.

Alongside her studies, Aoife spent summer seasons working as a Camp Counsellor with Camp Canada and Camp America, caring for and entertaining groups of children in busy, active environments. She has since completed a further two summers working at children’s camps in Austria, giving her plenty of experience planning activities, keeping children engaged and making sure they are having fun.

Aoife is also no stranger to the mountains! During winter 2023/24, she completed a ski season working as a Snow Ranger and Rep for Esprit Ski, caring for children aged 3–12 years. Her role included assisting alongside ski instructors with lessons, supervising the children and taking them on snowy adventures and activities — experience that will be invaluable when caring for families here in Méribel.

Aoife holds a BSc (Hons) in Psychology and Sociology and has gone on to complete an MSc in Clinical Health Psychology. Alongside her studies, she has continued to build her hands-on childcare experience, including working as a private nanny and babysitter for a one-year-old child.

Her experience also includes a year working as a Residential Care Worker within an SEN school in Scotland, supporting children with additional and complex needs. This, combined with her academic background, has given Aoife valuable skills in understanding individual behaviours, adapting her approach and ensuring each child feels safe, supported and included.

In the run-up to the winter season, Aoife will be working as bank staff for a childcare agency, providing ad-hoc support within nurseries around Belfast and gaining further hands-on experience with babies and toddlers from 3 months old.

Aoife’s varied background means she brings experience with babies and toddlers, school-aged children and children with additional needs, as well as plenty of experience creating fun and engaging activities in outdoor and adventure settings.

A lover of the outdoors, Aoife is excited to return to the mountains and particularly looking forward to expanding her experience with our younger children. We are delighted to have her joining our team and can’t wait to see her combining her energy, childcare experience and love of adventure to create some fantastic Méribel memories for the children in her care.

“Aoife looked after my son Felix two days a week, four hours a day, for about three months in 2025, from April to June. Aoife was animated, friendly, kind, and reliable. My son absolutely loved her and always enjoyed his time with her. Even though she was only with us three months, Aoife became a very special person to my son; he lit up when we she arrived at our door and would ask for her when she was not with us. She played games with him, took him to the playground and the library, and other activities that allowed her to bond with him. She tuned in to his interests, including his love of vehicles, incorporating that into their activities.”
