We’re thrilled to welcome Aimee Smith to the team for her first winter season!
Aimee recently graduated from Australian Catholic University with a Bachelor in Paramedicine and brings with her a wealth of hands-on experience working with children aged 6 months to 12 years.
Since 2021, Aimee has been a dedicated nanny for the Clarke family in Queensland, providing sole-charge care for two young children—starting when they were just 1 and 3 years old. Her role included everything from daily routines such as feeding, toileting, and homework help, to planning creative activities, baking, 3 days a week during term and full days during the holidays, as well as proxy parenting on weekends when the parents were away. It’s a role she has truly loved, and she leaves it with warm memories and a love for working with children.
Beyond her long-term nannying role, Aimee has also built a strong reputation in her community as a reliable and caring childcare provider, offering babysitting and temporary care—mostly through word-of-mouth recommendations, which speaks volumes about her commitment and connection with families
In addition to her childcare experience, Aimee has worked as an in-home support worker, living in 24-hour shifts with adults who have physical disabilities or learning differences. In this role, she has supported both emotional and physical needs, collaborated with healthcare professionals, and helped implement tailored care plans—showcasing her versatility, compassion, and professionalism.
Now, Aimee is taking a well-deserved year to travel, expand her childcare experience, and learn to snowboard—and we couldn’t be happier to have her join us on this exciting journey!
Her references had nothing but amazing things to say about her including
“In addition to the fact that Aimee interviewed very well, Aimee’s previous experience babysitting children and her study in paramedicine gave us confidence that she had the skills and expertise to work for our family as a nanny. From her first day on the job we were convinced that Aimee was the ideal person to care for and mentor our children. We have developed an incredibly strong relationship with Aimee. Aimee is a kind and caring person, and she has a passion for working with children. She has a strong
work ethic and is very diligent, reliable and trustworthy. We are always at ease knowing that our children are in very safe hands under Aimee’s care. Aimee has an amazing ability to juggle two children and multitask that responsibility with domestic chores. She shows initiative and never failed to come up with different ways to entertain our children with exercises, activities, craft, cooking and field trips. Aimee has played a very important part in the early development of both Patrick and
Abby”
Clarke family – Nanny position – December 2021 – November 2025
“Aimee provided personal care and public care to clients on the autism spectrum. This included incredibly important attention to detail to ensure their safety and providing meaningful support to the clients lives. She is an incredibly bright individual who is very friendly, calm, professional and caring. She has great rapport building skills and is willing to go the extra mile to help those around her.
Aimee is a motivated person who thrives in performing her role to the best of her ability. She works well without supervision so if there is autonomous roles in improving the childrens lives she would do a fantastic job. Aimee also works great under direction if anything needed to be achieved.”
