We are thrilled to welcome Niamh to our team for winter 2025/26, originally from the isle of man Niamh recently completed her Bachelor of nursing at the university of Chester and has experience working with children from 18 months up, her journey into care began early whilst gaining her Level 3 national Diploma in Health and Social Care where she particularly enjoyed her placement in a local nursery.

It was during this course that she discovered her passion for working with people of all ages, which naturally led her to pursue a career in nursing.

Throughout her 3 years of nursing training, Niamh covered all aspects of the hospital providing assistance and care to adults and children from 12 months up. Her time working in A&E and the Intensive Care unit have enabled her to develop the ability to stay calm and confident when approaching care for others. These experiences have helped her build Valuable skills in communication, reassurance and quick decision making, especially when working with children and families in high pressure situations.

Alongside her studies and training, Niamh has also provided regular babysitting and childcare for local families with children ages 5 – 8 years old, this included organising fun and stimulating activities and offering responsible and reliable evening care.

In the lead up to the winter season Niamh has been gaining more hands-on experience working part time in a local nursery (where she previously did her placement) this has been working with children from 2 – 4 years old, offering support to the nursery staff, providing fun stimulating and educational activities, providing support during meal times, engaging with the children, quickly learning their personalities, likes and dislikes etc

Her warm nature, healthcare background and genuine enthusiasm for working with children make her a fantastic addition to our team.

Niamh is excited to meet lots of new families, expand her childcare knowledge and experience as well getting out on the mountain to explore a new ski area.

Her references had nothing but incredible things to say about her including……

“Niamh started babysitting for my children in 2021. She cared for my Son from the age of 8 and my daughter from the age of 2. She would regularly assist me with childcare during the daytimes and evenings as I work full time. Niamh would entertain the children, meet their care needs and would often tidy the house (although this was not an expectation she just did it to help out). Niamh was always very responsive to the childrens needs and I felt safe leaving them in her care. When she spoke of pursuing a nursing career, I myself a nurse, felt that Niamh would be excellent in any care profession. I think Niamh would be an excellent sole charge Nanny and highly recommend her.”

“Niamh commenced her Nurse Training in September 2022, she worked with vulnerable individuals of all ages. Her programme of study was 50% theory and 50% practice, Niamh has now completed the Nursing Programme and is a Qualified Nurse. She is Bubbly, friendly has developed well over the years to know when it is appropriate to be serious or jolly. Niamh has a big heart and is thoughtful of others, I recommend her for the position as I think she now has the maturity and life experience to be able to take on such an important role and I wish Niamh all the best in what she chooses to do in the future”
