We are absolutely delighted to welcome Rachael back to the Méribel Nanny Services team for Winter 2026/27.
Rachael has been part of the Méribel Nanny Services story since the very beginning. She first joined us as a freelance nanny while living year-round in Méribel, quickly becoming a firm favourite with both families and our team thanks to her warm nature, professionalism, and exceptional childcare experience. After relocating full-time to Portugal, we were thrilled that she continued to return to support us during our busiest peak holiday weeks.
This winter, Rachael will be taking on a new role as our Part-Time Pre-Arrival Family Coordinator, working remotely from Portugal to help families prepare for their holiday childcare before arrival. She will also be returning to resort in person as one of our trusted Peak Week Nannies during New Year, February Half Term, and Easter holidays.
Rachael is a qualified childcare professional with a Level 3 Certificate in Childcare & Education, a current first aid certificate, and enhanced criminal record check. She brings with her over 15 years of professional childcare experience, including more than 10 years working with families here in the French Alps, caring for babies and children from 3 months up to young adults.
Her childcare journey began at a young age, caring for friends’ and family members’ children, and it quickly became clear that working with children was where her passion truly lay. Since then, she has built an impressive career as both a private nanny for independent families and a highly sought-after holiday nanny, known for her calm, capable, and nurturing approach.
In 2020, Rachael said goodbye to mountain life and, after spending time in Holland working as a live-in nanny caring for a young baby, made the move back to Portugal, where she spent much of her childhood. Despite loving life in the sunshine, Rachael still misses the mountains—so joining us during the winter peak weeks gives her the perfect excuse for a well-earned snow fix!
Rachael is a native English speaker and also speaks Portuguese and French, making her a wonderful fit for our international families.
Energetic, outdoorsy, and full of fun, Rachael is a former rugby player and keen skier who loves making the most of mountain life with the children in her care—whether that’s snowy adventures outdoors, sledging, snow play, and fresh mountain air, or cosy indoor afternoons filled with arts & crafts, board games, stories, and imaginative play.
One of Rachael’s greatest strengths is her ability to quickly build genuine relationships with children, helping them feel safe, happy, and excited to spend time with her. She adapts easily to different routines, personalities, and family dynamics, giving parents complete confidence as they head out to enjoy their holiday.
Families absolutely adore Rachael, with many returning year after year specifically requesting her care—a true testament to the exceptional nanny she is.
Rachael is available for both daily roles during peak week and Live in Travel Nanny Roles throughout the winter and summer months.
