Ruth Tarn is 27 year old and has a Level 3 BTEC Certificate in childcare learning and development along with 9 years’ experience working with children from 6 months and up and has been doing summer and winter seasons since 2016 in various locations.
After completing her certificate at college in 2010, Ruth worked in a nursery as a nursery nurse in a local nursery while going back to college to complete her hairdressing degree, not only did she manage a full time job and another 2 years of college, she was awarded student of the year in 2014 for her had work and dedication.
After working as a hairdresser for a year, Ruth decided it was time to get back to childcare and applied for her first season abroad. She was offered a position with Mark Warner for the winter season and spent the winter working as a Nanny. She absolutely fell in love with the mountains and the following year was offered a promotion and returned as the “Head of Childcare”, not only caring for the children but also doing being in charge of Rota’s, paperwork and organising the childrens ski school.
In summer 2018 Ruth went to Greece to do her first summer season as head of the Mini Club (3-5 years) and head of the Indy Club (14 – 17 years) Her role was to organise her team of nannies/kids club staff, plan and provide activities and working to the highest standards to please both the guests and the staff.
Last winter Ruth decided to take a winter off doing seasons and spend some time with family, she missed the mountains immensely and working with children, she spent the winter working as a Duty Manager in a restaurant and hotel, but quickly jumped at the chance to head out to Spain for the summer.
Over the summer months Ruth has been working for Neilson holidays as the childcare supervisor, where she planned and provided fun, stimulating activities for children of all ages, organised rota’s, managed a team of nannies and kids club staff and simply insured all the children had lots of fun on their holiday!
Ruth is a hard worker who loves to be outside whatever the weather! She grew up skiing and loves being in the mountains, especially being in Meribel.
