Emike Mamoh is from London and holds a BA Hons Degree in Counselling and Psychology. She has over 3 years of experience working with children and adults in the care sector including babysitting, working as a care assistant, SEN Teaching assistant and Support Worker with children from 12 months up
In 2023, she travelled to Sri Lanka and Thailand to complete volunteer placements. In Sri Lanka, she provided local counselling, guiding clients in developing skills and strategies for dealing with problems. She engaged clients in conversation to determine their feelings and apprehensions, offered guidance and advice to help cultivate self-esteem and community involvement, and conducted evaluations to help patients develop measurable treatment goals.
Following this, she travelled to Thailand where she volunteered as a teacher. Her responsibilities included implementing effective methods to enhance students’ English proficiency, leading cross-cultural activities, fostering inclusivity and mutual understanding, assisting struggling learners with custom strategies, and developing tailored curriculum content that adheres to educational standards.
After her travels, Emike returned to the UK and took a position as an ABA Support therapist. She implemented applied behavioural analysis techniques to support individuals with behavioural challenges or developmental disabilities. While she enjoyed this role, Emike missed traveling and sought to expand her experience working with children in a more relaxed setting.
In June 2024, she moved to Portugal to work as a childcare assistant for Scott Dunn holidays. Her role involved planning and implementing fun, engaging activities for groups of similar-aged children, contributing to an unforgettable family holiday. Over the Summer Emike has thrived within this role. She is excited to continue her childcare career and is eager to learn to ski and explore the mountains.
She is confident in her ability to provide exceptional care and support to the children and families she works with. Her wide range of care setting experience, SEN experience and summer season experience add to her fun, bubbly and energetic personality for making the perfect holiday nanny!
Her references had lovely things to say about her including:
“Emike has a true love for children and is creative with fun and out of the box activities. She is a team player and makes the team around her feel happy. Her bubbly out going nature contributes to a positive team dynamic, infusing the club with her vibrant and cheerful energy daily”
